I'm here and alive !

Topic: Currents Events
The beginning:
I'm in Las Vegas; rented an apartment for a month at a cost of $599.00, which is a special offering. A studio with a good air conditioning unit that really does the job. The noise level I would consider a 4 in a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the noisiest). This is the best selling point for the apartment as the temperature in Las Vegas is hovering around the 100's (farenheit) mark lately. A huge Walmart is just across the street and an Air Force base is just around the corner. This is important for me since I'm a military retiree. Also an adult video store is nearby, which I patronize occasionally; I'm a senior male person but I'm not dead yet. I own a full size Ford van which doubles as a resident when I'm not renting an apartment.
I just came back from a month travels in Europe, specifically France. I fulfilled a year ambition of following the Tour de France in person. I watched the tour last year on TV and witnessed the great Lance Armstrong won his 6th tour. I rented a car in Europe for the month of July and spent most of the time following the tour. The rental amounted to $550.00 after Vat and other miscellaneous. I slept on the car mostly, saving myself tons of money by opting out of those Euro expensive European hotels. Europe in general has an excellent chain of rest stops, which is geared for travelers like me and commercial trucks and business travelers who has a need for a good nights sleep. Mostly it also have a gas station, a restaurant or cafeteria, rest room facilities which at times includes a shower. At night these places assumes the ambience of a family picnic, RV park complete with children running around in their PJ's. Unfortunately the people are not openly friendly, I can attribute this to the language factor and the turf syndrome that most Europeans have; living in a continent where nationalistic borders abound.
Prior to flying to Europe, I drove from California to Delaware via mostly on I-70. I will write on my experiences on another blog.
